Bitcoin is an Artificial Intelligence
The definition of Intelligence is obviously very controversial; measuring it might even be harder and prone to many awful abuses. In the last 18 months, for many, intelligence has been seen as the ability to create and "generate" text, images, and others. However, another way that I think about it is the ability to interact and transact with others and adapt to an ecosystem. It is not restricted to humans. Animals, or even plants show some level of intelligence. With that definition, artificial intelligence would qualify as something created by humans that shows some ability to interact and transact with humans.
As you probably know by now, Bitcoin (and other similar blockchains) is a widely distributed network of nodes. Each node is independent and autonomous, but they collectively form a network that has a unique ability to interact with humans, even through humans. Over the last 15 years, it is clear that through ingenious economic incentives Bitcoin has been able to enlist countless humans into mining it. These humans don't know each other, don't have a shared boss, are physically located in many different places... etc. For better or worse, Bitcoin has been able to reproduce and propagate itself around the world, one node after the other and it's obvious that it cannot be stopped today.
Even though it does not have a formal governance mechanism, and no individual or organization has any control over it, Bitcoin is able to evolve and adapt, as we have seen through an innovative system called "hard forks".
Bitcoin, despite being a human creation is alive and intelligent.
