Bitch, Bully, or Badass - Which One Are You?
As high-achieving women, we have endured centuries of chastisement, judgment, and ridicule from both men and women, all because we are driven to succeed at everything we do.
We are often called too competitive. Is there such a thing??
What others call being a bully, I call getting shit done.
What you may call bitch, I call speaking my truth.
Sometimes to be a badass, you need a little of both.?
As women in the business world, we have been forced to silence our voices, stay under the radar, keep our heads down, and be polite—no more.?
There is a group of women out there (you know who you are) that are badass.
They are successful in their careers and most everything they do.
They want to make a positive impact in the world and on others, and they take their responsibilities very seriously.
These women have big hearts and are driven by a purpose beyond money, but these characteristics are often perceived as arrogant, aggressive, and controlling.

Perhaps they are, and the problem is?
You take a high-achieving woman out of the world where she has fought her way just to be heard, valued, and recognized for her work, put her into a purely social situation, and she will feel like a fish out of water.
Small talk is not her strength. She loves deep conversations about meaningful things, business, politics, and life.
Laughter may not come easy for these women; she often needs a safe environment with one or two close friends (and a few glasses of wine) to unearth the woman she prefers?to be, fun-loving, quick to laugh, compassionate, and patient (okay maybe the patience is pushing it)
If you measure a woman by her number of friends, high achievering women will be at the bottom of the list. These women are very selective about their friendships and with whom they spend their time.
But call this badass woman in a crisis, and you know she will move mountains to set things right; that’s just who she is and what she does.
Count me in if that’s what it means to be a badass woman.?
Every Saturday afternoon, I play golf with a handful of competitive women. They play fast, play hard, love to laugh, don’t mind swearing, and are not chastised for expressing their frustration. These women love to compete and relish competitive banter. No one is hurt, no one feels less than others, and no one is spared the jibes. No one is called a bully; they are appreciated for their direct efficiency. No one is called a bitch unless in jest (which brings forth the laughter), and they are all badass women.
Done. Now You Know.
