A bit about me

For anyone who doesn’t know me, here’s a quick intro:

They call me Devina and i’m 29(no I won’t be hitting 30 for another 3 years at least). I’m an extrovert most of the time. I’m a book worm, and if you suggest any tv series to me, i’ll have it finished in a day.

So what am I writing about?

I recently joined a cyber security course with?Capslock. I started it 3 weeks ago and wanted to document the process for myself and I guess anyone else who’s interested.

Why Cyber?

After being made?redundant from a customer service role during the pandemic, I was forced to take a step back and reflect on what the hell I was doing with my life. And customer service was not for me. So I did the only sane thing I could think of and went back to basics, taking skills quizzes, career quizzes and everything else that you get told to do as a teenager to pick a path.

I then got set on the path for cyber through a friend who’s in the industry and once I started learning, I was hooked.

I know what you’re probably imagining (if you aren’t in the cyber world), I am by no means sitting in a dark room in a black hoodie, at my computer all day every day…this isn’t a film. I’ll admit, I did have the same image before I did some research but it’s definitely as cool and intriguing as it comes across in movies and tv.

So follow along for my thoughts on the aspects of cyber I learn about and to see where I end up!
