So right up there with Malta, and County Clare, Ireland, is Bisbee, AZ -- a historic mining town just north of the border.

There are a lot of firsts here -- you'd be surprised:

1st Baseball Field in America, still in continuous operation

1st Planned Community in AZ (Warren)

1st Governor of AZ was from Bisbee

Bisbee also has the 1st Library in AZ, and the 1st Golf Course in AZ (still operational).

lived in Bisbee in for a year, 2011. a few political issues, like any small town. but a great place!
