Birthdays Are My Favorite Holiday

Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with birthdays. Not only just celebrating other people on their birthday, but I have a weird “talent” of remembering a ton of birthdays. Besides obviously my friends and family, there are so many random people that have probably told me their birthday once that I remember.
I was born on Father’s Day. Pretty great Father’s Day present am I right?! Since the date of Father’s Day changes every year, it’s fun to share my birthday and Father’s Day with my dad every seven-ish years. My birthday every year is similar—it consists of me going around to get all my birthday freebies from various restaurants and other stores. If you haven’t done this I highly recommend it!! You can get so many random free things at so many places and it’s so fun.
I have seen on social media that a lot of people cry on their birthday, but for me they are mostly happy. Yeah, it’s sad to grow up, but you can be sad about that any day, don’t be sad on your birthday!! Growing up isn’t fun. Maybe it’s the fact that a birthday makes you really think about how fast time is passing and in turn makes you sad about getting older.
Not only do I just like my birthday, it’s exciting to have an excuse to celebrate people. I love celebrating my friends and family’s birthdays because it’s just so fun to make people feel special on their day. Everyone deserves to have a little extra love and attention on their birthday, and I love being that person to celebrate them. Whether it’s going to a party, planning something fun, or just sending a super enthusiastic “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!” text at midnight, it’s such an easy way to make someone smile. At the end of the day, birthdays aren’t just about getting older—they’re about celebrating a special person and the beginning of the next year of life.
