The birth of a superpower... (Mine), and how you can find yours...

There's a lot of talk about how people can find their superpower and specifically how it's something magical (don't worry it is, but it may not seem to be).

When I first started to figure out my superpower, it was entirely by accident.

I'd gotten to the point where I could verbalise copy out of thin air and it just worked.

There were no pauses, just flow.

This happened 4 years into my copywriting career.

It was a bit of a surprise and I didn't appreciate it fully until about the 6th year of my career.

As I said above, you won't actually realise your superpower right away.

For me, it took me two years and a lot of conversations with friends saying things like "How come you still write copy? I think it's crazy because you can talk this into existence."

So, it got me thinking.

And now, 6 years later, 60min Sales Letter is a service that does this at a reduced up-front fee + 10% of sales generated.

(Which is very reasonable).

Though the service is a lot more than an hour, prep, transcriptions, edits, and all obviously are included.

So how do you find your superpower?

Well, it's simple really.

Look at what you do for your purpose, living, and passion.

Then find what you do amazingly well inside that field.

Then you can analyze it for a weekend only and see if it's what you do incredibly well.

That. That, is your superpower.

For instance, if you're a personal trainer.

Is your superpower figuring out exactly how to help people of a certain body type with a certain diet that gets them in shape?

Or maybe, you're someone who's superpower is to strategically pinpoint specific bottlenecks in business or in someone's life, and you help them solve those problems?

Or even, maybe you're like my friend Alyson Lex, a fellow badass copywriter.

Her superpower... Writing evergreen copy.

The woman is a genius to write campaigns that sell your product for years on automation!

Those are basic examples of superpowers.
