I was walking in the park, headphones on, lost in the music of Imagine Dragons, when a random thought hit me: how boring traditional conferences can be. At The London Organisation of Skills Development, our flagship research conferences have always been about making an impact, but something was missing—something dynamic, different, and refreshing.

As I strolled, I envisioned a new kind of event, one that would bring together practical tips, real-life stories, and the wisdom of experienced professionals and entrepreneurs. I didn’t want another TED Talk. Don’t get me wrong—TED is the gold standard, but sometimes those talks drag on (sorry, not sorry ??)? and after 10 minutes, people start to lose interest— well at least i do???

I wanted something punchier, more direct. A space where you could gain valuable skills in a short amount of time, without the fluff, while still leaving with real-world strategies and inspiration. That’s when the concept of Skills Live started to form—a new take on sharing knowledge, designed for those who crave immediate, actionable skills from professionals at the top of their game.
