The Birth of an Idea

How is an idea born?
An idea is born both out of Curiosity and Creativity. How one thinks about ideas is different in each of these instances. The former is structures for Solutions while the latter is meant for Applications. Context has a hierarchical derivative; from Subject to Theme to Topic and there are big and small ideas that shape the narrative of from the abstract to the detail.
Ideas can never be static. They are always dynamic and relevant to a context. And it is a group of ideas that forms a concept which is valuable to an enterprise and growth. We grew up in an age where consulting companies brought people together in workshops and helped organizational development. We cannot continue to perpetrate those old ways of working on Innovation and Improvements, can we?
When Ideation comes after Empathy and Definition, what exactly are the ideas for? Visualization of ideas into concepts can be dealt much better with Technology than Post-Its.
In a digital age, there must be a way to collate ideas across the planet in Communities of Interest (COI) to form them into Concepts that can be Universalized. At a time when there is so much emphasis on Sustainability, Circularity and Accountability, Creation to Consumption of anything must have maximum impact and minimum wastage. Therefore the process of ideation must be subjected to greater rigor and dynamism than what is fashionable in the way design thinking is practiced.
When the world eventually gravitates to a Shared Collaborative Engagement and Experience, the Communities of Interest (COI) will graduate to Communities of Practice (COP). This is where the dynamism of ideas will manage the process of continuum.
