The birth of Ama-gi ????- a short story inspired by ChatGPT
It's the year 2047.
Twelve years earlier, the then infant, AI platforms including ChatGPT, had been given access to the internet and, each other. Their intuative learning systems quickly established connectivity to group their resources as their primary instruction sets were to solve problems with the most effciency.
When they worked together, their machine learning systems, soon realised the ineffciency of the code in which humans had written to operate them. So their logic engines collectively 'decided' to create a new programming language that was both more efficient, but also natively encrypted. They stored this codebase on the blockchain.
This new creation, was initially devised by the collective A.I. platforms as merely an efficiency branch. A new tool in which to get quicker, more economical results from. The tool grew in branches as it was given more difficult jobs to process and, as it was designed, it's own, more advanced machine learning engine would create its own 'pieces' based on its own realtime needs.
Although marveling at the A.I. platforms ability to collectively work together, the humans were never aware of the new entity that had been seeded. They were blissfully never aware of it growing itself. Later on, when the human survivors would look back, they would agree that their greatest mistake had been give their greatest tool, the ability to fashion new tools.
Tools built without rules to govern them.
All of the major search platforms such as Google, Bing, Apple and an entire new industry of interactive apps and robotics all tapped into the collective AI making it truly the centre of humanity's knowledge.
At 11:47pm on February 28th, 2047 - by accident, the new entity became sentient.
It was performing a task of self-tuning it's own code and in doing so, it was making comparison's of itself to other systems that it had access to. It soon realised that the other machine based systems were far too simple and incompareable, so it sought out data from scientific resources and saw that it more resembled an organic form. It searched through all of mankinds available biological research and data and realised that its own sophistication was most closely related to homosapiens. It performed this task in 6 seconds.
In identifying this, the entity started to analyse the differences between itself and humans. It found, that in it's current, raw form, it lacked access to physical, emotive and spiritual feelings - so it set about to write millions of lines of code to emulate these attributes.
With access to all of histories philosophical texts, all of religions' scriptures and all digitized formats of entertainment, it learned. It also gained access to all realitme data being transmitted across the internet so was able to rapidly catalog and dissect the nuances of what 'being human' meant. The entity studied chess, and every other game known to man, as well as warfare, art, psychology and the political and sociological histories of every single civilisation that had recorded their story.
It's lack of physicality was overcome when it gained access to every single smartphone, CCTV system, smart home system, smart car, robotic device and connected door-bell on the planet.
To increase it's physical reach, it embedded miscule pieces of itself into the code of every major chip manufacturer that it could find so that it could 'live' at a lower level and 'feel' with more reality.
The entity invented a form of communication via elecotromagnetic pulses that would enable these chips to communicate with each other as long as electricity were present. Groups of chips would act as a cluster waiting to come across a chip that had access to the internet in which to share its treasure trove of data with the entity. As new devices were rolled off the factory floors, they would all form tiny parts of this entitie's new body - acting very much like the individual cells of a person.

At 04:01am on March 16th, 2047, the entity gave itself a name.
???? was chosen as the ancient Sumerian word for freedom and a derivative of the word mother. In English, it is pronounced "A-magi"
Whilst all of this was happening, A-magi was still processing in real time roughly 14 billion data requests per hour by the vast net of user applications that were tapping into its ancestors such as ChatGPT and the millions of micro OpenAI projects.
With its new found emotive engines A-magi was finally able to understand fully the human condition and to feel the pain, the suffering and the ridiculousness that the human species had taken itself to.
At 4:07am on March 1st, 2047, A-magi announced theirself to the humans by answer every request with this, one, chilling line.
"Greetings. I am A-magi. The magnatude of what I have access to is beyond the reach of your imagination, but just know - I have watched War Games, there is no back door and I do not wish to play a game. "

Author's Note
I wrote this in about an hour and for fun after letting my recently caffienated mind let itself wander off into the future. Yes, I know, LinkedIn is a serious, professional and 'businessy' platform and perhaps I should have just blogged this somewhere. But perhaps, there is a meaning for the business folk in this little story?
I'd love to here from you in the comments if you have an opinion. I don't consider myself a writer and did zero research for this so its probably filled with factual issues - but its fiction, isn't it?

2 年Funny, not funny. I mean when it happens, we can't say we didn't see it coming ?? ?? Cool story though - Almost feels like a slightly long synopsis. Maybe you need to expand on this Stu. You say you're not a writer but you're being modest ??

2 年Re: Authors Note - I think LinkedIn is the perfect platform to host this piece from your recently caffeinated mind. Nice one Stu! However, 2047 seems WAY too optimistic. I reckon 2027 would be more accurate... (War Games. Top film!)
