These pictures are from my recent 4th College-Medical School reunion. While now we are all seasoned physicians encompassing Family-Internal Medicine, ENT and Cardiology-EP, this group met when we were just ‘kids.’ Our 36 years of friendship started in the summer of ’87, as part of the mandatory, post-high school graduation, summer session encompassing the Penn State University-Thomas Jefferson Medical College Six Year Accelerated BSc-MD program. Little did I know that these ‘kids’ would become some of my dearest friends on my journey through life. What amazes me most, as we exchange experiences of what we see from healthcare around us, is that this group of individuals have all chosen to practice medicine the right way- putting the needs of the patient before that of the health system, insurers or our own personal gain; while this paradigm may seem to be the obvious standard in Medicine, sadly, this is not uniformly the case. I am privileged to call these individuals my friends, and proud of the physicians we have all become. Birds of a feather flock together. Giridhar Vedala Philip Treiman, MD
