The Bird's Eye

Walking on tip-toes- Part III of iClassical's Story.

When you entered the recording room (on the tip of your toes), you would first see the teacher with their instrument or sitting at the grand piano, then a highly concentrated student who intensely listened to the teacher.

Above was a moving camera like a giant bird that would soar, dive or fly in circles while two other cameramen walked around the actors. In the background, the editor, an experienced specialist, made a pre-editing of the recording by choosing the camera with the best angle. Then, we had one of the most challenging jobs: recording the sound at the right level.

The technical crew worked for television studios and thus had an excellent professional background. Finally, the manager kept a diary of everything, a record that would come in handy when assessing the value of the master classes and deciding what to publish.

The main issue we had was with the editing. How to edit the material in such a way that the viewer at home feels involved?

The enchanting lakeside

We made it a point to offer teachers and students a program that included some excursions in the neighborhood of Lake Maggiore.

Isola Madre and the Swiss mountains at the background

The beautiful town of Stresa was just a few minutes away, and many boat owners were pesting you to use their boat to cross over to the Borromean Islands. On the other side, you would visit Arona… and an hour away, you were in the great city of Milan.

Once, we decided to cross the lake with the students from a friendly organization to take a cable car to the top of a small mountain. Used as we were to ride in a cabin, we had not foreseen the reaction of some students who lay down on the floor… on the way up. It took some convincing to take them back (name of the mountain available, if you wish).

Pierre's right. A significant part of online music learning is how the videos are adapted to the viewer at home. We have a unique method, so the tutorials are quick to digest for the learner and contain the best learning parts of the Masterclass.
