??On May 28th, an Air France Airbus A350-900, performing a flight from Osaka to Paris CDG with 324 people on board, was enroute at FL350 about 420 Nm northeast of Osaka when the crew declared an emergency and requested to divert back to Osaka.
??At the time of the distress message, the crew mentioned a weather radar malfunction and an airspeed indication discrepancy. While the reason seems obvious, the exact moment of the bird strike remains uncertain. The crew could have flown for several hours without noticing the collision. The widebody aircraft finally landed safely on Osaka's Runway 24R, about 3:10 hours after departure.
??The investigation is currently being handled by The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism of Japan, though preliminary reports confirmed a "minor" dent on the nose radome and damaged pitot tubes.
