Birchal is Australia’s most successful crowd-sourced investment platform, with 70% of funding taking place on our platform. As one of the first seven issued a licence from ASIC in 2018 to operate as a crowd-sourced funding intermediary, we’ve now helped more than 165 game-changing Aussie startups raise more than $170m, backed by a crowd of more than 230k like-minded investors, and growing daily!

At Pause Awards, we unite to spotlight simple and elegant solutions to the challenging business problems, well executed that resulted in a positive market adoption that brought business success. So let’s peek inside their breakthrough.

What was your breakthrough moment?

In 2023, we faced a similar challenge to our earliest days when there was low confidence in Crowd-sourced Funding (CSF). Our pivotal insight then was in the power of storytelling to connect and mobilise communities around a shared vision, which led our leap to number one platform.?

As market confidence waned, our breakthrough was recognised with 70% of the market, we found ourselves as the voice of CSF. In the same way we needed to ignite interest in startup stories early on, we needed to tell our sector story to drive market confidences, to ensure the value of CSF wasn’t drowned out by wider negative sentiment.?

To combat founder uncertainty, in Q3 as activity slowed to record lows, we launched a new content strategy to share more news, insights and capture the value and results of our work, which was getting startups funded.
