The 2 defining features of stem cells ??

Broadly speaking, the 2 defining features of stem cells are self-renewal and differentiation.

Self-renewal is the process by which stem cells divide to make more stem cells, and differentiation is the process by which stem cells become more specialized cell types.

By the way, my tendency to post more about stem cells the past couple weeks is a big hint about my new job!
