Just wanted to quickly summarize 2 key publications that references our novel BioMix SEC analytical column.
Some basic principles most likely driving mixed mode SEC separation:
1) Static interactions by Van der Waals force driving weak adsorption of a BsMAb based on the hydrophobicity changes in the homodimer, half bodies, and heterodimer.
2) Mixed mode separation driven by such electronegative interaction (electron rich domains) as well hydrodynamic radius can lead to a powerful and easy tool for BsMAb analysis and purification.
3) The mechanism is a combination of the surface layer property as well as the base matrix zeta potential/net dipole moments and how they interact in certain pH as well as varying salt concentrations.
