BiOMED 2024 Highlights

Last week I attended Biomed Israel 2025 , the major Israeli congress for the #healthtech, #biotech, and #medtech sectors. The congress featured interesting presentations, valuable networking opportunities, an impressive start-up roadshow, and a great opportunity to meet and connect with friends and colleagues.

I have summarized my learnings, impressions, and key insights in the article below. Check out my top 5 #Biomed2024 highlights!

1. What is the future of pharma and biotech industries?

Gil Bar-Nahum, PhD , Jefferies , and Ronny Gal , 诺华 discussed the future of #pharma and #biotech sectors.

After the COVID spike, the #biotech market has hit a bottom. Yet, M&A activity and positive clinical results drive a renewed interest in biotech, and it shows signs of moving in the right direction. Pharma companies explore new directions for growth by incorporating innovations. Below you can see an example from Novartis.

2. "Reimagining healthcare for sustainable future: The new role of healthcare leaders".

Professor Kreiss, Director General, Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer , discussed major hospital challenges and explained why health leaders should lead the way with transformation. He shared how Sheba embraces Israeli innovative start-ups to transform and optimize their care patterns. See a few examples below.

MDClone - improving operations based on the hospital data. Saving money.

3. What is the Digital Health Role in 2024 and Onwards?

Ittai Harel , Pitango , Amir Dan Rubin Healthier Capital and Udi Goori Carelon delivered a thought-provoking session on the digital health role in 2024 and onwards.

Amir Dan Rubin discussed how to craft successful business models in healthcare and presented one medical example.

Udi Goori explained what are the key factors for successful implementation in the Elevance Health system and the importance of a quantified value:

The keynote talks were followed by case studies of 7 innovative digital health start-ups. I especially liked the following insights:

AIVF , Daniella Gilboa - Education is key. Need to educate both the industry and the VCs

Dedi Gilad , TytoCare - the importance of saving data, to enable future advancement. It is crucial to understand the care flow, stakeholder considerations, potential limitations, and barriers.

Ronen Lavi , Navina - overcoming the paradox of combining accessibility and empathy. It's hard to be a SAAS company in the healthcare space.

Gal Salomon , CLEW - The importance of the right messaging! Need to quantify your clinical value and present a financial perspective

4. Happy to see the success of my valued customers at Scinai Immunotherapeutics Ltd.!

Even though the congress traffic was slower this year, the Scinai booth was constantly packed with prospects interested in their #CDMO #BioServices and partnership opportunities.

5. Work is also fun! Innovative start-ups, networking, and socializing opportunities

During the congress, I had the pleasure of meeting several innovative start-ups to discuss #GoToMarket and #marketinginnovation.

I also highly enjoyed attending satellite networking events, meeting and socializing with dear colleagues from our industry- especially important at these challenging times.
