Biomass Sales People - What's next?

The re-structuring of the biomass industry continues apace.

Sales are falling, leads are thin on the ground, commitment from customers is slow and installers and re-sellers are either failing or merging. With hindsight it's easy to say that we all knew this would happen.

More recently, the industry developed it's own lifeline for sales into the waste recycling industry. Sadly it now looks likely that impending new regulations from the EA will mean that a large proportion of those sales are at an end.

Regardless of whether we knew or not this means slim pickings for professionals who work (or who have worked) in the biomass industry.

So, what's next for those professionals?

There are three options (for companies and individuals):

1. Leave the industry and go back to some conventional selling (or even change direction completely)
2. Stay in the renewables industry and try to find something else to sell (maybe heat pumps,solar thermal etc etc)
3. Stay in the biomass industry and work to develop new sales opportunities with more detailed, developed and sophisticated offerings.

1. New ESCO projects which could be funded with our Equitable ESCO.
2. Projects to upgrade, renovate, re-deploy and replace existing installations which are pre-registered for RHI. This is our Biomass Rescue service. www.biomass-rescue.co.uk

Ideally, in both cases, we are looking for projects which can be financed by our equitable ESCO but we can consider straight sales. We would prefer larger projects, it reduces our legal and set-up costs, but we will consider projects down to around 100kW. We don't have any particular alliances with manufacturers, importers, dealers or installers which means we can consider any installations.
