Biomass for Entrained-Flow Gasification: thyssenkrupp and Yilkins teaming up
thyssenkrupp Uhde is a global leader in gasification technology and the original inventor of entrained-flow gasification. Yilkins owns a proprietary drying and torrefaction technology being suitable for biomass pretreatment. Today, both companies announced to join forces, combining the essential building blocks of Yilkins’ biomass torrefaction technology with thyssenkrupp Uhde’s proprietary PRENFLO gasification technology. The cooperation will allow the application of ligno-cellulosic biomass to highly efficient and clean PRENFLO gasification to generate high-quality syngas for production of biogenic synthetic fuels, such as SAF, gasoline, renewable diesel, ammonia, methanol, green hydrogen, SNG, and well as various co-productions. thyssenkrupp Uhde and Yilkins are now able to offer a full biomass to syngas route, based on the lowest cost of ownership, the most favorable environmental profile and lowest carbon index score to produce bio-based sustainable fuels and chemicals.?
