Message: Never was now more important than now!
Peter Ditlevsen presented his researched that should give us a wakeup call. ?(https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-023-39810-w). I encourage everyone to read this article.
The #oceans are dying under our watch, and we humans fail to realize their importance. For example, only 5% of the worldwide kelp forests remain. The implications for biodiversity and climate are profound and need no further explanation.
The event showcased many significant innovations and achievements that inspire hope. I was particularly impressed by Shelly Bengiat Bengiat's contributions to ocean maintenance and her vision that calls for a shift in our mindset. She advocates for governments to treat the oceans with the same care and investment as they do for parks and nature reserves.
Erik Bruun Bindslev un Bindslev, who moderated the final panel, concluded with a compelling statement: 'Make peace with nature.'
I believe that algae will be a key element that will enable the change.
Pierre Erwes , the founder of #BioMarine, along with his wife Véronique Erwes es and son Antoine Erwes , have demonstrated remarkable perseverance and passion in advancing the blue economy. This event in #Biarritz covered a wide range of topics, from marine protected areas to seaweed. The informal, family-like setting provided a unique opportunity for participants to meet and strategize for a sustainable future. It was a successful event that fostered deeper collaboration among politicians, financial institutions, investors, lawyers, and entrepreneurs.
It was also a pleasure to connect with visionary people like Peter Green , Job Schipper , Theo Verleun , Allard Marx , Benedicte MARIS , Virginie Tassin Campanella , Jean-Paul Cadoret , Julia Samson , Eduardo Theiler , Tamara Mills , Svend Hardenberg , Mario Augusto M. , Janelle Kellman, Esq. (She/Her) and many more.
