Bio-Degradable Plastic Bags Activism in Peshawar (2014-2023)

Throwback to 2014, when I alongwith other Global UGRAD-Pakistan Alumni, in collaboration with IM-Preserver and Pak-U.S. Alumni Network KP & FATA Chapter, embarked to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation ????
As part of our efforts, we organized activities and campaigns on International Earth Day, focusing on the adoption of bio-degradable products to replace harmful plastic alternatives. Our aim was to educate and engage the masses in a crucial conversation about the planet's future.
Additionally, we organized educational sessions at universities in KP and engaged with various government officials and policymakers. This was the least we could have done as climate activists and students at the time.
Fast forward to 2023, and it's incredibly rewarding to see the seeds of our environmental activism bearing fruit. ?? A significant percentage of the shops and markets have transitioned to using bio-degradable bags instead of harmful plastic in Peshawar, and this change wouldn't have been possible without the collective efforts of climate warriors in academia, government, civil society, and the masses.
This achievement is a testament to the power of collective action and the unwavering commitment. Together, we've shown that positive change is possible when we come together for a shared cause.Being the founder of KP Green Alliance will push for a greener, more sustainable future. ????#EnvironmentalActivism #Sustainability #ClimateChange #TogetherForChange
