BIMTECH Qualitative Case Study Research Workshop
BIMTECH will conduct a full-day, in-person Case Workshop on 17th September 2022 at our Greater NOIDA campus
The sole objective is to equip participants with the basic structure of Qualitative Case Study Research. Being a part of qualitative research, such a case study holds potential to either build a new theory or extend a theory by determining the theoretical limits.
Qualitative case study research can increase the contribution
Our experience gained through frequent interactions with case writers and users have helped in crystallizing two thoughts. First, in India most of us strongly associate case study with only teaching cases we forget that it is also a research strategy. Second, due to lack of understanding of qualitative case study research, the authors are missing the opportunity of conducting research with high quality of theoretical contributions.
We believe that the quality and variety of case research must be improved in such a manner that probability of publication increases due to better contributions. We are convinced that it can be achieved by sharing the knowledge of Qualitative Case Study Research.
Online workshops are not so effective
During the time of Covid we tried to impart the knowledge by conducting virtual workshops. We failed miserably. We could not make the participants understand the nuances of framing open-ended questions for the interview, difference between theoretical anchoring and literature review, Inductive vs deductive process, what are themes, and how to avoid mixing up the phenomenon with context and many more issues. ?
Hence this workshop will be only in physical mode. Online participation will not be possible.

Abstract of a reserach case needed
Further, the participants need to submit an abstract for a research case to be written with a real organization and collection of interview data. Use of secondary data should paly a supportive role to primary interview data. ??
This is the first workshop in the series. It must be attended in person. Just after attending this a participant will not be able write a publishable case. It will need few more iterations which will be delivered online based on the need.
The quality of abstract (format is here: https://lnkd.in/dQyQW2Uq Last date for registration: 31st August 2022) will decide the selection to participate. The abstract should display the possibility of writing a research case (we are not interested in a teaching case).
Possiblity of publication
We are facing shortage of good qualitative case study research that can be published in South Asian Journal of Business and Management Cases. We expect that a few cases from such workshops will emerge which can be taken up for review and publication in the journal. ???
We have shared all possible information.
Now you decide. If you wish to participate, submit the abstract quickly (submit here: https://lnkd.in/dK2Nztdp. If it gets selected, the registration fee of Rs.3000 plus 18% GST need to be deposited.
