BIM Six Nations - Round 3 (Government) Results
Good evening BIMfans, and welcome to the final round of this year's BIM Six Nations. It is all to play for in this final round; while Wales are currently in the lead following an exciting first https://bit.ly/1nKUIYM and second round https://bit.ly/252Rcea. However, there is now an opportunity for England, Scotland, or Ireland to overtake and become this year's champion. So without any further preamble, let the final round commence!
The Rules
For this final round is a quick fire competition. In Google, each nation will be ranked by now many pages it takes to reach their first Government organisation page after searching the following terms "BIM in Nation*".
Note: In the interest of fairness each Nation had either English and Native name searched (e.g Wales & Cyrmu, Ireland & Eire...) with the fewest number of pages found taken.
After processing the data, here are this afternoon's results for round 3 in order:
Scotland 1,2,&3
The winner of round three is Scotland! Scotland had an impressive the first three websites all to Government pages. The first link was to Scottish Futures Trust https://bit.ly/1MkZJN, second was a review of Scottish procurement by the Scottish Government https://bit.ly/1YX2rR2, and third was the UK Task Group https://bit.ly/1pmmCvm.
England 1&2
A close second is England with the first two links to Government pages. The first link found was to the BIM Task Group https://bit.ly/1I1JKY0 with the second to the HMG Industrial BIM strategy https://bit.ly/1phZewm.
Wales, 2
The second link found was to the Construction Futures Wales, a Welsh Government and CITB joint initiative, focusing on Welsh construction skills and training https://bit.ly/1XtklJU.
France, DNF
While no Government pages could be found, there were a number of BIM related organisations that were found such as BIM France https://bit.ly/1Pawxcz, and Mission Numérique Batiment https://bit.ly/1pmohkE which have issued a report hosted on a government website https://bit.ly/12kA8Uw.
Ireland, DNF
Again while no Government page could be found, there were also a number of BIM related organisations that were found as BIMIreland, a BIM specific spin off of Irish Building Magazine https://bit.ly/252NZex, as well as publications from the Dublin Instite of Technology https://bit.ly/22i985P and the Construction IT Alliance https://bit.ly/22i9j0X.
Italy, DNF
Much like France and Ireland, no government page could be found on the first two Google search pages, but other organisations were. Such as the Institute for BIM in Italy an open Data organisation https://bit.ly/21tSBWx
With all three rounds complete let's tally up the results and see who is this year's BIM Six Nations Champion!
Wales 1 1 3 = 5
Ireland 2 2 4 = 8
Scotland 3 4 1 = 8
England 4 3 2 = 9
Italy 5 5 4 = 14
France 6 6 4 = 16
So there we have it, the tournament became much closer towards the end, but Wales have won this year's Six Nations of BIM. With a low population, and government. It was a hard fought battle, well done to all those who participated as good luck at next year's #BIMSixNations.
