Independent three-legged tokens on Authentication API V2

Blog authors Jo?o Martins and Deepali Srivastava discuss updates in the API authentication system. With the introduction of the V2 Authentication API version, tokens have started operating independently of each other. Now, even with multiple user logins and the generation of several access and refresh token pairs, each pair remains independent and can be verified by the server, ensuring the security of the user's data and preventing unauthorized access.

FRENCH TOAST

In the fresh blog by Andy Milburn, readers join the author on a journey through the architectural masterpieces of Paris. Andy shares impressions from revisiting the construction site of Notre-Dame de Paris, where he once participated in creating a 3D model of the cathedral as part of a BIM enthusiast team.

The author humorously philosophizes about the historical building materials and the potential menu of the builders across different eras. Andy highlights the importance of immersing oneself in the context of the era when studying buildings, urging people to respect the past while remaining open to new knowledge.

Concluding his journey, Andrew Milburn reflects on his hobby — exploring architecture and striving to understand "the way we build" through visiting buildings, photography, and analytical sketches.

Three Architectural Success Stories Demonstrating the Capabilities of BIM

In the latest blog, Bhushan Avsatthi emphasizes the importance of BIM (Building Information Modeling) for architectural projects. Avsatthi and the HitechDigital team demonstrate its effectiveness through three projects in the USA and Australia where they managed to significantly reduce the time and cost of work by creating precise and coordinated BIM models. The projects included the development of residential complexes and public spaces, ensuring seamless integration of new systems with existing ones. The BIM market, valued at 7.9 billion dollars in 2023, is expected to double by 2028.

System Family Predicate and Python Section Creation

In Jeremy Tammik's blog, family creation and section view representation in Revit using API and Python are discussed.

System Family Definition: Jacob Small and Ivan Dobrianov explore ways to programmatically determine whether a given family is a system family through the use of the IsEditable and IsInPlace properties in the C# Revit API.

Family Creation Considering Level: Richard RPThomas108 Thomas emphasizes the importance of selecting the correct family definition template to obtain necessary built-in properties, such as the ability to bind to upper and lower levels.

Creating Section Views in Python: Pieter Lamoen discusses creating sections with the Revit API and Python that allow the section to be oriented for outside window viewing, demonstrating how to achieve this with Python instead of the traditional C#.

BIM in Norway – Webinar

In a recent webinar organized by AgileBIM and led by Billel Zedazi, guest Ignacy Lozinski discussed the current state and challenges faced by professionals in the field of BIM (Building Information Modeling) in Norway. Lozinski underscored Norway’s leading role in adapting BIM, highlighting key aspects including data management and data quality challenges. Moreover, he proposed ways to address these issues and emphasized the importance of implementing "Lean Construction" in the Norwegian construction industry. In addition to this, Lozinski demonstrated the use of BIM through one of the largest infrastructure projects in Norway – the expansion of the Oslo metro line in the Fornebubanen project.
