Enscape for Archicad: Beginner to Advanced Session at ARCHINTENSIVE 2023
ARCHINTENSIVE 2023 was a virtual event dedicated to Archicad, a software used in architectural design. The event, held on April 28-29, 2023, featured 24 hours of informative sessions covering Archicad best practices and related tools and technologies. One of the sessions was presented by Melos Azemi, a 3D visualizer and the founder of the YouTube channel Scale. Melos focused on Enscape, a tool used in conjunction with Archicad for rendering and visualization.
In the session, Melos guided viewers through the process of setting up a project and navigating the Chaos Enscape interface. The presentation covered various topics, including customizing materials, adjusting lighting, and creating animations. Whether you were a beginner or an advanced user, the session offered step-by-step instructions and valuable tips to help maximize the potential of #Enscape in #Archicad.
If you missed the event, you can watch the recording to learn how to effectively work with Enscape for Archicad and enhance your architectural design projects.
GHERKIN BLUES
Reflecting back to 2014, architect Andrew Milburn recounts his experience analyzing structures like The Gherkin with #BIM tools. His work, which involved producing instructional worksheets, was a unique example of learning by doing. He laments the undervaluation of this process and encourages more people to try. He also emphasizes the importance of spontaneous creativity, drawn from an anecdote about a casual musical composition. Lastly, he shares his professional journey, working on a complex coastal resort masterplan using #Revit, highlighting the challenges and satisfaction of his work.
Dark Icons, NewFamilyInstance and AI News
Revit 2024 introduces theme-switching functionality requiring new icons and a new NewFamilyInstance overload, as CAD developer Matthew Taylor shared. Two 'hacks' for supporting dark theme icons are detailed: one using ImageMagick to convert .bmp files to .png and invert grayscale pixels, another embedding the name within BitMapSource. These additions are part of the ongoing #AI revolution, with open-source AI making strides and discussions around AI manipulation and emergent abilities.
Data Visualisation on BIM project
Ignacy Lozinski discusses the challenges of handling vast data in the #AEC industry and the role of data visualization. He highlights a webinar featuring BIM Specialist Nicolas D?ssland, who demonstrated how PowerBI simplifies data from multiple sources, including IFC models and apps like dRofus and BIMcollab. The article emphasizes PowerQuery's functionality within #PowerBI to structure and transforms data for effective visualization
