BIM Holoview Version 1.2.5: Coloring Changes and Viewing Improvements
With version 1.2.5 of BIM Holoview we have made changes to the way coloration works, as well as changes in the property display and tabletop viewing. Read below to find out more.
Coloring Changes
We have been analyzing how users have been applying the coloration feature in BIM Holoview which has resulted in us making improvements to the scheme for most use cases. The new coloring feature now uses the Hard Mode so you can select items to either color-highlight (i.e. mark-up that there is an issue) or hide the item. With the hiding feature it is now possible to effectively peel back the layers of a model to see hidden layers or features (e.g. rebar in a slab).
Property Display Zoom In
With the initial Property Display feature we introduced in 1.2.0 the distance of the display information was too far to read in a lot of cases. In version 1.2.5 we allow a user to zoom in and zoom out. To zoom in just click the title bar and to zoom and out click the magnify glass to restore it back.
Automatic Object Culling on Tabletop Display
Most BIM Holoview users upload models with a lot of geometry which leads to framerate performance issues when using tabletop mode. We previously tried to mitigate this through optimization to remove smaller objects, but when you looked closely it was clear to see that items were missing. In version 1.2.5 we have implemented automatic culling so that when you are far away smaller objects are removed so the performance is good, but as you get closer those smaller objects appear automatically. In this way you get good framerate performance as well as visibility of all objects regardless of how complex your model is.
