BIM Holoview for HoloLens 2

BIM Holoview for HoloLens 2

We are pleased to announce that BIM Holoview 2 has been released to Beta and within the next 2 weeks the full release will be on the Microsoft Store.

One of the key benefits of the HoloLens 2 is the introduction of full hand tracking and hand interaction. To take full advantage of this we have reworked the BIM Holoview interface to use system interactable buttons and controls. So instead of air-tapping users will be able to simply reach out, press buttons and use the available controls. This means BIM Holoview 2 is a lot more intuitive to use, particularly for non-technical users such as on-site workers.

We've also gone a step further by enabling hand interactions within certain functions of the application. Now, if you want to fine adjust the placement of the model you can do this with the help of the movement widget – just grab, move and rotate, which makes it a lot easier and faster to line up the model exactly with the surroundings.

The table-top view has also had a revamp so the model is placeable simply by ‘grab and drop’. Thereafter, you can resize and rotate the model using the grip controls provided.

We’ll be posting videos about each of these features in the upcoming weeks. But if you would like a demo of the features or would like to load the beta version on your HoloLens 2, please get in touch.  We believe the advancements of the HoloLens 2 make it a game changer for BIM Holoview and will enable us to significantly increase the benefits provided to the AEC industry.
