Take a peek at this photogrammetry scan of the sadly late artist Bill Mitchell's (1951- 2017) attic. It's striking me more and more the unique opportunity and privilege involved with this kind of work. To see and capture a given subject, whether that be a changing natural environment or indeed, a highly personal artistic space. To be able to share a moment in time and save, digitally at least, something that was, something that has changed, something that is no more, feels increasingly worth doing.
There has been a full size VR experience produced and a 360? dome projection piece. Check out the online version below! It's like stepping back in time and getting a glimpse into the mind of the artist himself. Explore the space for yourself and see if you can spot any hidden treasures among the environment that he spent most of his time imagining and creating in. Experience a piece of art history ?
The project is part of a multi media archive to help inspire future imaginings. Find out more about the space and the rest of Bill's work at the Bill's attic website and maybe you'll find something in there that inspires your next creation!
