BillGenie.ie October Operation Savings Update

Last week, we had a further €2834 worth of projected savings for Radio Kerry listeners bringing our tally to date to €63,209.

We have started to see the higher unit prices being reflected in people’s bills in the last couple of weeks. While the prices went up at the start of October, most people pay for their electricity in arrears (whenever they get a bill) so won’t have seen the effect of the increases yet unless on a Prepay meter

People are on the higher unit rates now but it could be another 5-6 weeks before they see the full impact of it on their bills. We can still help people to make a saving and if it is €200, €100, €50 or €20, that money is better in the listeners pockets than going to the suppliers.

Flogas Increase

Flogas have a further price increase from tomorrow October 26th. Electricity Bills going up 17% (unit price up 20%) and Gas bills going up 23% (unit price up 26%). Any Flogas Electricity or Gas customers, feel free to get in touch with BillGenie.ie.

Government Credit

Dates seem to be confirmed for the €600 (€550.47 + vat) Government credit so whichever supplier you are with on these dates is responsible for giving you the €200 credit (€183.49 + vat).

October 27th is the first date for the first electricity credit. Bear in mind that this is not going to be a payment direct to the homeowner on that day. This is just the date that the electricity supplier is to add the credit to your electricity account with them so it could be November/December before some people see it reflected in their electricity bill.

Example A listener could get their electricity bill issued today (October 25th). The supplier would then add the €200 credit to the listener’s electricity account on October 27th but due to the billing cycle, it could be the end of December before they get your next bill and see the credit reflected. People can still change suppliers as normal and whichever supplier you are with on the dates above is responsible for applying the credit.

Broadband- Since we mentioned it last week, listeners have been sending in their broadband and home phone bills. Good savings to be made there, a lot of people paying too much.

Solar PV- We have a number of Solar PV companies that we partner with and can get quotes/estimates for people. BillGenie.ie will help people to relate the cost of the Solar back to their electricity bills and work out the projected payback time. As a rough guide, the payback on Solar PV for a home is around 7-8 years now, for a business, can be as low as 3-4 years. Remember, you are going to be paying the money to the Electricity Suppliers anyway for the electricity unit anyway- dead money. Instead you are investing the money in your own Energy-producing system for your property.

LPG Bulk Tank Gas

Some people have been in touch about Bulk Tank Gas in their home or business. Remember you CAN now change gas suppliers in the same way that you can change electricity or broadband suppliers. The new supplier arranges for the tank to be swapped out, contents of tank transferred to the new tank and no waste. We have arrangements with a number of gas suppliers so feel free to contact us re Bulk Gas too.

Free Service Year After Year

A reminder that BillGenie.ie is a FREE Service and we don’t charge a fee. We feel that it would defeat the purpose of trying to save people money if you are charging them for saving them money.
