Bilingual = Translator?
Technically every translator is bilingual (depending on their number of languages), but NOT every bilingual person is a translator. Be careful!
Why shouldn’t a bilingual person work as interpreter? Here are some reasons why:
I) Depth in knowledge of technical terms and vocabulary.
II) Lack of practice and training.
III) Sometimes it is not enough to understand and literally translate, but convey the feeling beyond the literal interpretation.
The bilingual person is the first stage in becoming a translator but for these and more reasons it is highly suggested you get the right person for the job.
If it is easier to remember: "Translator is Pro and biligual person for show."
