?A data centre is a technical facility that houses an organization’s IT operations and equipment where it stores, manages and disseminates its data.

Bihar State Data Centre is a critical digital nerve system of govt. of Bihar for secure 24 X 7 access, and efficient electronic delivery of G2C, G2G & G2B Services.

With the propagation of e-Governance projects and applications to provide citizen services electronically, the need for superfluous, strong and secure IT infrastructure, including the Data Centre has exponentially amplified. Bihar State Data Centre was established in 2015 by the Department of Information Technology to operate as a repository for the hosting of web applications and server implementation of different departments of the State Government. It has been augmented to its maximum capacity and presently is hosting more than 70 applications and websites of various departments. Now, to purvey the future requirements of the state, BSDC 2.0 has been built.

BSDC 2.0 has been planned as a Tier-III data centre that will be an essential aiding component of e-Governance initiatives & businesses for delivering services to citizens. It would enable various State Departments to host their applications on a common infrastructure. It has been designed to ensure high availability, expeditious scalability, efficient management and optimized utilization of resources. It would provide a wide range of services for discovery, analysis, optimization, virtualization & migration of services at existing SDC as well.

?The building comprises of state of the art facility, high-speed internet connectivity with data security and world-class infrastructure with an uninterrupted power supply. The Bihar state data centre will be equipped with high-efficiency data storage along with a 7 layer data security system and will prove to be a milestone for Bihar’s glorious information Technology commitment. This will propel the process of the Government of Bihar’s E-Governance program, which is ?being implemented to ensure transparency.?
