We are back with a rather juicy edition (#5) of "More To The Point". As we roll towards Christmas like a giant snowball that has been launched down a huge hill, by an excited child, we keep you in the loop about what's been going on at The Point.1888.
Mog's Christmas on Channel 4.
'Mog's Christmas' is a special animated adaption of Judith Kerr's much-loved classic children's book, by HarperCollins Publishers UK Children's Books and produced by Lupus Films and Channel4 which will air at 7:45 pm this Christmas Eve.
We couldn't be more excited to share a first look at the images and the trailer where you can follow the festive adventures of our beloved Mog. With an original song performed by Sophie Ellis-Bexter and the voices of a whole host of stars including Benedict Cumberbatch, Claire Foy, Adjoa Andoh, Miriam Margoyles and more, we are spoiled beyond our wildest dreams with this beautiful animation.
Our Head of Publishing Katie Wilkinson commented in a recent article with License Global , "We’re delighted to welcome all the new licensees to both ‘Mog the Forgetful Cat’ and ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ licensing programs. It’s such an exciting time for both properties, with live shows and new animation launching this year, the timing couldn’t be better. We have been spotting Mog whilst out and about in store, and even noted that John Lewis sold out of Christmas books, as our favourite tabby cat continues to light up the hearts of children nationwide. Purrrrrfect.
And we just had to mention the prestigious Radio Times cover featuring Mog in the December 2023 edition, which is the 100th Christmas cover (seen at the top of this newsletter).

Pinch of Nom: Express book launch.
Our newest partner at our sister agency EightyAte , Pinch of Nom celebrate the launch of another new title to add to their library of award-winning cookbooks. Kate and Kay owned a restaurant together on the Wirral, here in the UK, where Kate was head chef. Together they created the Pinch of Nom blog, to simply teach people how to cook. Now with a website attracting over 12 million page views per month and with nearly 5 million books sold since March 2019, pinchofnom.com has become one of the UK's most popular and favoured food blogs.

Spin Masters 'Unicorn Academy' secures top spots on Kids' most-watched lists.
As the group of six unicorn riders take the world by storm, our partners at Spin Master absolutely nailed the launch of Unicorn Academy on Netflix .
The new fantasy adventure animated series launched on the 2nd of November and has quickly earned its place on kids' most-watched lists completely captivating young audiences everywhere. The series has racked up more than 30 million hours of watch time. Say what? Yes, it's huge! And we are super excited about this one as we have been here before, TWICE with Cocomelon and LOL Surprise. Our team have been grafting hard on this brand for the last 19 months and we know this is going to be the next big thing in licensing.
Supporting a broad multi-platform approach to franchise building, Spin Master Entertainment released supporting content beyond Netflix with in-game activations on Roblox and short-form videos on TikTok and YouTube , amassing 37 million views on the Unicorn Academy YouTube channel. Reviews for the new series are also positive, including Common Sense Media, which gave Unicorn Academy 5/5 stars and exclaims that “the magical world is exquisitely imagined” and that “the non-unicorn creatures are equally fantastical.”
Moomin X UNO.
Our super talented Brand and Product Development Manager Sophie Fennessy has worked her magic with UNO, one of the world's most beloved card games by Mattel, Inc. which now comes in a Moomin Characters version. The aim of the game is to be the first player to score 500 points, achieved over several rounds (usually) by playing all of your own cards and scoring points for the cards still held by the other players. A perfect stocking filler this Christmas? We think so.

We have had the best time recording the first series of The True Purpose Podcast, so much so, that we have decided without hesitation, to record Season 2. We have learned so much, yet know there is still so much to uncover.

We are the only licensing agency in the UK (at the time of writing this) to have their own podcast.
