The Biggest Secret to Talking on Video

Do you know that social media has 4.20 billion users around the world; that’s about 53 percent of the world population?

Do you know that nearly 80 percent of small businesses have stepped onto the social media bandwagon to market their businesses?

Do you know that people retain 95 percent of what they see on video but only 10 percent of what they read?

Wouldn’t you agree, therefore, that it’s a no-brainer to make video messages for marketing on social media?

The above information is all readily available on social media, but if you want to shine with confidence and brilliance on camera, I have loads of tips to give you on my Camfidence courses.

Have you ever watched a video or been at a Zoom conference where you have absolutely no idea where the teller of supposedly interesting subject matter is looking? We don’t do that in real life. When we meet people face to face, we look them in the eye for two reasons: to engage their attention and to show respect.

So, why behave differently on camera? It’s best to look at the people you are addressing as if you care for them enormously. After all, you want them to like know and trust you. Then, they’ll buy from you.

Many people battle with this looking into the lens business. The secret is to look at that lens as if there’s someone you really love or admire on the other end. Only you need to know who that is! Look through that lens at your special person and talk to them about your products or services.

Note that I said talk to them; in other words, speak to them as if you’re having a real and relaxed conversation.

For decades, I’ve been teaching TV presenters to be real people. Now, I’m teaching real people to be professional on camera whilst coming across as warm and genuine.
