The Biggest Mistakes You Will Make in 2024

The Biggest Mistakes You Will Make in 2024

We are a couple of months from a new year. 2024 is right around the corner and the masses will start looking to the future and the success they want to have. Goals will be set. Promises will be made and most will start the year with the best intentions.?

A month and half or so into 2024 focus will be lost for most and based on historical data only about 9% of people will attain the goal they set for 2024. With so many people failing to get what they set out to get, I wanted to share some perspectives I’ve gained throughout the years that might give you an edge.?

My hope is that you’ll take some time and put your eyes off often overlooked keys to winning at higher levels.?

“What will I have failed to do that will keep me from the targets I set?”

This is one of the questions I ask myself when my intentions are to do big things. Here are my answers.?

I Will Operate Without Clarity

What do I want? This one question, when answered truthfully will be the lighthouse that guides my thoughts, decisions and actions. What I want is mine and mine alone. I want what I want because I want it. I don’t need to justify it or run it by anyone else. When answering this, I also ask myself “what don’t I want” which often gives me more clarity around what is most important to me.?

I Will Overcomplicate Success

Too many times, I’ve complicated things like pricing my services, creating my marketing messages or telling others the truth. If you need to raise prices… pull the trigger. If your ideal clients are divorced business owners… speak to them. When a teammate is underperforming… have the tough conversation the first time you notice. Far too many of our choices are led by fear. Master simplicity in everything.?

I Won’t Grow as a Communicator?

Your ability to communicate with another human being will dictate your success. Show up in every interaction with the intent of making the other person feel important. Slow down, ask for their perspective and become more familiar with communicating with empathy. Being a strong and consistent communicator trumps all other strategy.?

Your Success Starts with a Strong You

My Priorities Will Be Messed Up

Success is an inside-out game. High performing people have monster work ethic and frequently put the business or career first. I’ve learned that my career will only be as strong as I am personally and at home. Choose each day to build a strong you, then a strong home. The fat wallet will follow.?

If you’re planning on crushing 2024, I think you should consider examining these perspectives and making the adjustments needed in your own life.?

I would love to know your thoughts. Let’s continue this conversation in the comments and tag me with any questions.?

Thanks for reading.?
