The Biggest Mistakes in Talent Acquisition Using ChatGPT

Again, these Friday Fun Facts are purely my opinion, but often backed by data!!!
ChatGPT is a powerful tool for talent acquisition teams to leverage and I've even given some advise this month to teams on how to gain insights, data and information on topics, HOWVER also advise what to be aware of!!! It can cause some serious mis-steps if used incorrectly. Let's take a look at the biggest mistake people make when using this well received, and very widely criticised technology in the recruitment process.
One questionable implementation of ChatGPT is using it as a personality evaluator during interviews. While this tool can help automate conversations, it doesn't replace the importance of having human interaction when evaluating a candidate's character and behavior.
Also very worthy mentioning that the data and information pulled from chatGPT also almost pre-dates COVID with it only being accurate up until 2021, so quoting references and not knowing the source can be dangerous and make you look stupid!

Finally, there's been reports of companies trying to use ChatGPT for end-to-end background checks or criminal record searches ????♂? Although this technology can facilitate certain aspects related to research, relying on a chatbot for something as important as background checks is not only dangerous but also illegal in most countries!!!
Overall, ChatGPT can be an effective tool when used with caution and common sense. As long as you remember that this technology is meant to supplement existing recruitment processes rather than completely replacing them, you should be able to get great results out of using it in your recruitment efforts.
I'll also throw in there that I've noticed 100x Newsletters being "PUBLISHED" in the past month and it's very noticeable the formatting, Americanised spelling and "In summary...." at the end of every section which is very ChatGPT driven - would love to see more reference websites, documents or papers in there to actually show research had been done prior to copy/pasting from ChatGPT ????

2 年Hmmm I would hold my comments here on AI, I still beleive TA can not be successful without our great recruiters. But AI can help as a ‘tool’. Will explore more on this topic.
For Visionary Leaders
2 年ChatGPT is the best tool I have ever been able to access so far. I use it to clarify so many things. For example, I recently asked what was the best framework for a team in charge of the Operations: Scrum or kanban? The answer was kanban which is correct in most cases. ChatGPT built a list of 20 Retirement Villages in Sydney in a matter of seconds. I asked for the URLs and got them. I also use chatGPT to accelerate my research before writing my new articles. I have no doubts that regardless of how AI can do, writers will keep writing, architects will keep designing, musicians will keep creating their own music, and singers their own songs.

2 年I think it is going to be like anything. By that I mean it is a tool. Nothing good ever came from expecting AI/Technology to do the job of TA blindly without human oversight.
