The biggest mistake that kills Mobile App Startups

The application market is a so challenging environment. Every day it is getting harder to stand out among dozens of mobile apps exposed on the Google Play and Apple store. One of the most major mistakes an entrepreneur can make after launching a mobile app is not paying enough attention to marketing.

No one will ever know that a well-crafted and professional app has been published on an app store if you don’t put any effort into letting the world know about it. Before you launch a product, you should ensure that there is a target audience who will be interested in using it and playing with your app.  App marketing, therefore, should happen from the very begging of app development and can be considered a part of the development process due to its importance.

You should start planning your campaign when you start planning the product.

Develop your own business plan

Therefore, you need to know your future users' demographics, lifestyle, and behavior. You can choose from several monetization models: paid app, freemium, in-app advertising, or in-app purchases. Nowadays, free apps are the norm, so it’s better to launch an absolutely free product and then pick a pricing model based on how you are performing on the market. Take into account that users would rather download a free app with annoying ads than pay for an ad-free product.

Do not underestimate the role of a website

Many developers underestimate the value of a website. Websites are really great platforms for mobile app promotion. App stores provide substantial information about your product, but it’s better to have more space to tell the full story.

Even a simple landing page and visible App Store and Google Play links, or a registration form for users to leave an email if the app hasn’t been launched yet, can be a positive asset. The landing page must be informative, catchy, highlighting the most important features so that visitors get a clear understanding what exactly the app does.

Email marketing via Sendgrid

Let your potential users know about your mobile application! For each app in the email, they will find a screenshot, a brief summary, and main information desk to familiarize deeper with your product in an easy and not bothering way.

Go social

Promote your mobile application in social media and on social platforms. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter reactions will help you make your app public, better understand the focus of your prospect users and catch feedbacks.

There’s no denying the fact that mobile apps are hot right now - but the way how you attract and retain users, how you make them do download, interacting and sharing the applications that you pitch depend on how much effort and resources you spent on your mobile app marketing.
