Neglecting my LinkedIn growth.
I told myself, “Client work is more important,” or “I need to finish the course I paid for.”
Excuses.
Now, as 2025 begins, I’m kicking myself.
Why? Because hitting my revenue goals for 2025 is directly tied to growing on LinkedIn.
To all my LinkedIn connections: don’t make this mistake.
This platform can unlock immense growth and income opportunities—but only if you prioritize it.
Here’s what I did wrong last year, and how I’m fixing it:
What I Did Wrong in 2024
1?? No Clear Goal on LinkedIn
I kept switching between objectives:
- Getting clients for myself
- Growing my followers
- Acquiring clients for my clients
This lack of focus was a disaster.
Fix for 2025: My goal is simple: Help sales and revenue leaders grow their LinkedIn presence.
2?? No Time Blocked
I was always busy. Grateful for the work, but I learned a hard truth:
You’ll never “find” time—you must make it.
Fix for 2025: I’m blocking time specifically for LinkedIn growth and sticking to it, no matter what.
3?? Undefined Ideal Client Profile (ICP)
I was vague about who I wanted to work with and their pain points. As a result, I sent cold DMs to the wrong people.
Fix for 2025: My ICP is crystal clear:
- Revenue leaders selling B2B SaaS marketing/sales tools.
- They’re losing to competitors who invest in LinkedIn.
- They’re ready to build their personal brand but need help.
The Consequences of My Mistakes
1. Starting 2025 at a disadvantage for my revenue goals.
2. Gaps in my client acquisition pipeline.
3. Pushback from potential clients: “If you’re so good at LinkedIn, why don’t you have 10K followers?”
It’s hard to argue with that—I wasn’t practicing what I preach.
The damage is done. I’m frustrated with myself, but now it’s time to recover.

1?? Make LinkedIn Growth My #1 Priority
No excuses. If I miss my monthly LinkedIn goals, I’ll hold myself accountable.
2?? Double Down in the First Half of 2025
I’ll be twice as active to close the gap I created last year.
3?? Give Back to LinkedIn
In 2024, I was selfish—taking from the LinkedIn community without giving back enough.
Fix for 2025: I’ll create valuable resources to help my ICP succeed, including free PDFs, videos, and actionable content.
My goal is to build trust, add value, and create superfans.
