The Biggest Lie About Aging (And Why It’s Holding You Back)

Let’s talk about something no one prepares us for— aging!

I’ve spent over 35 years working with high-achieving women to break free from the old narratives that they didn’t even realize they were living. And one of the biggest ones is:

“I'm too old.”

Too old to start over.

Too old to change careers.

Too old to want more.

But there is no truth in that!

This is a narrative that's shaped by our culture, the media, and even your own family members. These stories say that you have an expiration date; that reinvention is for other people, and that you should be content with what you have—no matter how restless you feel.

Silent Ageism

Ageism isn’t just something that happens in the workplace. It happens in our own minds.

We stop ourselves before we even begin.

We assume doors are closed before we knock.

We downplay our ambitions, convince ourselves it’s too late, and settle for “good enough” when we’re craving something more.

I see it all the time: Women with decades of experience, talent, and wisdom hesitating—not because they aren’t capable, but because they’ve absorbed the message that reinvention and change belongs to the young.

It doesn’t.

And I’m living proof.

Reinvention Is a Choice

I’ve reinvented myself many times, but let's talk after 50.

After 50, while still running my professional office practice, I became a Talk-Radio Host on a #1 English-language AM Radio station. I became a keynote speaker and writer, contributing to International Media outlets. And when COVID changed everything—I changed with it.

I learned technology.

I launched my podcast, Aging With Purpose & Passion.

I mastered the coaching business and received IFC certification.

And that’s when my Coaching Company, Reinvent Impossible Inc was born.

And I’m not done yet.....

Neither is Margie Zable Fisher, MBA my latest podcast guest, who completely started her career path over after 50. She left her successful PR Business and took a risk to become a full-time author—a dream she never thought was within her reach.
