It feels crazy to say, but the end of the year is almost upon us.
So far, 2024 has been a wild ride over here at Marker Video from designing and building our platform to launching and growing Marker Video and learning all the lessons about creators and brands along the way, every day has been a school day, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
2025 is a chance for all of us to shake things up, try new tactics, grow and step outside of our creative comfort zone.
Of course, in the world of social media and content marketing, a comfort zone is nothing more than a pipe dream, because content moves, seemingly, at the speed of light.
Trends come and go, film-famous soundbites set the internet alight, old videos resurface, things change pace, slow down and burst into life in a matter of hours, days and weeks. What’s hot is not in the blink of an eye, and whilst this is exciting, it can also make forward-planning notoriously difficult.
Like a pair of beady-eyed birds, however, we constantly keep our eyes and ears firmly peeled, observing how brands and creators alike navigate the content world, and this two-way perspective has led us to some conclusions.
Now, we’re looking to the year ahead, and thinking of ways to grow, and bring you the best, most authentic video content for your marketing needs.
Here are our content trend predictions for 2025.
Buckle up and let’s get right to it!??
Content trends for 2025
1) Community & human connection will be key.
Now more than ever, we seek connection, comfort, and, above all else, community.
It’s safe to say that the days of faceless brands are long gone. In 2025, brands need to strip away the curtain that separates their brand from the people who follow, buy from and support them. So, how to do this?
Get your customers and followers involved. Get their opinions. Start Q&As. Ask your most engaged users to take over your stories. Put your team front and centre of your brand. Familiarise your followers with your team dynamics and even your office. Talk about your founder’s story. Reward your most loyal customers and think about community-driven events.
People remember people, so make your content human-first.

2) The power of influencers is shifting.
Macro-influencers still play a vital role in many brands' overall content strategy, particularly for brand awareness. However, when it comes to engaging content and brand building, the overall power of the influencer is undeniably on the decline, and the stats paint a clear picture.
47% of consumers are reportedly fatigued by repetitive influencer content (mainly thanks to a culture of overconsumption, gifting and lavish PR events), instead turning to their peers for unbiased product reviews and recommendations.
One simple way for brands to generate consumer-generated content (CGC) is to turn to their active customers and incentivise them at the key point of purchase.
Authentic content like this will increase brand trust, build community and paint a clearer picture of your customers.
3) AI and the age of authenticity.
There’s no denying that AI is going to continue a growth trajectory in 2025, but caution is necessary for brands.
Sure, it’s a helpful tool for idea generation and can be a huge help in saving time. However, finding a balance between speedy AI hacks and maintaining an authentic, human-first feel in content is imperative.
Feeds saturated with filters, AI-generated influencers and AI-generated content may be the hottest item on the menu but they’re already leaving many craving something altogether more real, raw and honest.
So, remember if in doubt, strip it back- raw, real content that is distinctively human will always be in demand.
4) Video will continue to dominate feeds.
If you thought video content had peaked in 2024, think again, the stats say otherwise!
Video ads generate 12 times more shares than traditional image-based ads, and videos will make up 82% of all global internet traffic by 2025.
For best video results, share more off-the-cuff content, videos from your followers, UGC, and CGC (see above), hop aboard sound and video trends quickly, and ensure that content captures the essence of your brand seamlessly.
