The Biggest Challenges Small Businesses Are Facing Right Now

My latest piece for the U.S. Chamber looks at small businesses' top concerns from the Q4 2022 MetLife and U.S. Chamber Small Business Index.

Top among those challenges, by far, is inflation with more than half (53%) of them saying inflation is the biggest challenge they face. This was consistent all of last year and is up a whopping 30-percentage-points year-over-year.

Other challenges are there, but don't come close. 22% of small businesses reported revenue generation as a top concern. 20% of small businesses cite supply chain issues as a top challenge now (down from 26% in Q3 2022).
