This is why original ideas are so important...

I felt inspired to start this newsletter because I feel like the creative ideas process needs a bit of love and attention.

In a world of endless social media scrolling, templates and ChatGPT original ideas have taken a bit of a knock.

And I get it...

It’s not always easy to have creative ideas because you’re busy and there are so many distractions…And that’s before you even face your own limiting beliefs…

“I’m not creative”

“I struggle to come up with any ideas”

“I’m not an original thinker”

Chances are you might have at least one of those thoughts at some point.

And I understand why... imposter syndrome is real!

But I truly believe in one crucial thing:

The only difference between creative people and ‘uncreative people’ is self-perception

You can 100% learn to be creative.

And it starts with opening your mind to actually BEING creative.?

? Creative people see themselves as creative and give themselves the freedom to create

? Uncreative people do not think about creativity and do not allow themselves to create anything new

Being creative is sometimes just a matter of setting aside the time, taking a step back, and asking yourself if there's a better way of doing something.?

The Psychologist Edward de Bono, who invented lateral thinking, calls this a "Creative Pause."

He suggests that this could be a short break of 30 seconds, but you should make it a habit.

It's why those incredible ideas come to you in the shower. You're not distracted, and your unconscious creativity has the opportunity to surface.

This is what this newsletter is about...

No, not shower thoughts!

But helping you generate the biggest and best ideas to transform your creative process.

Every week you'll get tips, frameworks and inspiration to get you through those creative blocks.

I'll help you have bigger and better ideas, and all you need to do is click subscribe and spend a few minutes reading every week.

Journalism makes you creative on demand

I spent 17 years as a BBC journalist.

Journalism is one of those jobs where you're judged on the quality of your stories and ideas.

It can be pretty brutal.

You have to be creative on demand.

Deliver inspiration under tight deadlines.

Nothing focuses the mind like knowing you've got to produce creative storytelling to an audience of 2 million people 5 days a week!

I look forward to sharing more with you in The Infinite Ideas Lab ? every week.

So please subscribe and share with others you think might find this helpful.

Because everyone needs bigger and better ideas, right?

They're the currency of the digital world... you need them to build your brand, market your business, and get that next job or promotion.

And the plan is for this newsletter to make the process a hell of a lot easier!

I look forward to sharing more.

I’ve dedicated always considered myself one of the “not creative” people. This sounds really interesting ??

My best and most creative ideas come to me whilst out walking in nature. I think that's when I tap into Universal Mind.
