One of the most popular websites in the area of Data Science is called Kaggle https://www.kaggle.com. Google recently acquired it. It is a right place for you to evaluate data science problems and solutions.
Kaggle is a marketplace for Data Analysis and Data Science contests. Companies post their questions and challenges, tell them how much they can afford. Data Scientists around the world compete to solve problems and produce the best answers by getting cash prizes.
Kaggle has become a platform, a complete site on Data Science, with datasets, tools, training, blog, everything you need to learn about this new area. You can create your account and participate in competitions or prepare for one of them in the future.

- In October 2006, Netflix ran a contest offering a $1 million prize for anyone who improved by up to 10 percent the accuracy of predictions about how much someone would like a movie based on the preferences of others. The award was given on September 21, 2009, to BellKor Pragmatic Chaos, a hybrid group of developers from BellKor (AT & T) and Big Chaos from Austria.
