Big Zero Show sneak peak and the good news we were hoping for

Hey everyone! Here’s some electrifying stories to share with you this week!

First up, we're thrilled to share a sneak peek of the Big Zero Show 2023 with you. Floating wind expert Gabriel Davies from ?rsted discussed our floating future and the ways offshore wind power works on this week’s Net Hero Podcast. So, tune in! The Big Zero Lectures’ agenda has finally been released today, so be sure to check that out and save your seat.

In other worldly news, China is thinking ahead! They are developing hurricane-ready wind turbines, which is a major breakthrough in sustainable energy. These turbines are built to withstand extreme weather conditions, and we can't wait to see how they'll shape the future of renewable energy.

We also want to highlight a story about Europe's most ambitious hydrogen project yet. The facility will produce 240 tonnes of green hydrogen per day and was constructed to contribute towards Sweden’s 2045 net zero goal.

In the UK, we're happy to hear that energy bills will drop by a staggering $440 in July! That's a huge saving that we can all get on board with.

Speaking of savings, turns out Brits overestimate their energy savings by 51%. It just goes to show that we could all benefit from a little education about how we can make our homes more energy efficient.

And in more energy news, we're thrilled to report that wind power is now outpacing gas in the UK for the first time.

I’ll see you all next week!

Cheers,

FNZ team
