Big Thanks to Telecom and Cable Guys Maintaining our Networks to Keep us in Touch
Today I joined so many others on the Boulder bike paths to get our exercise. Couples “Social Distancing” together and kids in small groups enjoying the first sunshine and fresh air of their extended Spring Break. We had to steer round CableTV & Telephone company crews shoring up overhead cables and may be even adding more wires and capacity. A big word of appreciation to them being out there ensuring we can remain connected.
Since Friday, about half the PSTN numbers I’ve called have given a BUSY SIGNAL or “….please try your call later”. I heard the central office of a small metropolitan state capital city was maxed out at busy hour & not accepting calls. Today I tried to call the PSTN numbers of a conferencing service. all were busy, so I joined the conference call via internet from my PC.
It makes you realize how dependent we are on that pair of fragile copper wires from our home.
What if that pair of fragile copper wires breaks or last mile service suffers an outage? SD-WAN will provide redundancy.
Or maybe users now needing to working from home want to increase their level of close collaboration with their colleagues by using Microsoft TEAMS, Zoom, Webex, Slack, Atlassian etc. integrated with voice and video
Social Distancing doesn’t mean disconnection. I’m sure we all feel a greater need to reach out. Teraquant is here to help you explore new ways to keep in touch. Let us know if we can help. Meanwhile, stay safe, look after each other and here’s to one big party when it’s all over & we can socialize in person, face-to-face once again.

4 年So true...in some cases they are actually enhancing the service rather just maintaining
