Big Plastic

Big Plastic

I recycled my plastic for over 15 years.?

?

I would separate all of my plastic waste and put it in the right bin. And I would feel great because I thought I was doing something good for our planet.

?

But when I discovered the truth about plastic recycling, It almost made me stop doing it.

?

And it might be shocking to you that I almost stopped doing it after 15 years. But when I reveal to you why plastic recycling was invented, and who invented it, you will understand, and you might get mad too.

?

And this laundry detergent jug led me to this huge discovery.

?

But first, it’s really important that we talk about just how much plastic there really is…

?

In 2021, the USA threw away?51 MILLION tons?of plastic waste. Only 5% of that plastic got recycled… So 48 million tons of plastic went straight to?landfills.

?

How can this be possible when almost all of us recycle??I don’t know about you, but this doesn’t make sense to me.

?

And the truth is, we Americans are not lazy people,(well some are) so many of us separate our plastic and recycle. But?landfills keep getting bigger... And some scientists say the ocean will have?more plastic than fish by 2050. Because every year around 8 to 10 million metric tons of plastic end up in the ocean.

?

How can this be?

?

We have been lied to.

?

Recycling?was NOT invented to save the planet?from our plastic waste. Recycling was invented so we don’t feel guilty about?buying plastic.

?

And guess who invented plastic recycling?

?

The big plastic corporations.

?

They spent a fortune marketing plastic recycling to us, just to keep us guilt-free. While they kept producing and selling more and more plastic.

?

Now look at the horrifying result... The world produces more than 350 million metric tons of plastic waste per year.

?

And this is?NOT?your fault. We have been tricked into believing that plastic recycling can fix the damage... But they always knew it was a dead-end street.

Another great idea would be to have clean potable water like many European cities so people don’t have to carry water to drink. Our bodies are slowly becoming plastic receptacles. We will soon need to be recycled.
