The Big Picture
Often, it is critical to step back and see a bigger view. As leaders or managers, we often get stuck in the day to day and fail to move out of the weeds.
Though reflection on what was may have a bit of fog, in general, the learnings that surface are invaluable. One of the most important lessons learned is that the history of any organization or business is critical to understand. Change happens, but the removal or ignoring of previous stakeholders and those who built the institutions that you lead will with time become your achilles heal.
Set aside thirty minutes a day to ask different questions and listen to new voices.
Step outside of your industry or area of expertise and find differences AND similarities in the spaces where unimaginable collaborations become far more palpable and even exciting.
