Now Audi ‘delays’ introduction of fixed-price car sales for its EVs as another agency model cracks
Audi dealers say the brand will be delaying the introduction of fixed price, no haggle car sales for its EVs. Sources say the brand was due to bring in ‘agency sales’ for its entire electric range at the end of April, but its dealers have been told this is now being quietly pushed back.

Electric car ranges ‘fall by a third in real-world conditions’
Tests to find out the range of electric cars are flawed and give a misleading indication of battery life, motorists have been warned. Steve Huntingford, the editor of What Car? magazine, said official laboratory tests have “inadequacies” and need overhauling so that drivers have “realistic information and won’t be left disappointed” after buying an electric vehicle (EV).

Dacia Spring pricing could place downward pressure on fleet EV pricing
SUV-￡15,000 pricing for the new Dacia Spring could place considerable downward pressure on electric vehicle (EV) prices for fleets, says FleetCheck. Peter Golding, managing director at the fleet software specialist, pointed out that the price almost halves that of the cheapest EV currently on sale in the UK, and is not far from being the cheapest car overall.

Volkswagen considers partnership to produce mass market electric vehicles
Volkswagen is considering partnering with other carmakers to produce cheaper electric vehicles to help it compete with a coming wave of lower-cost rivals from China. The world’s second-largest carmaker plans to decide later this year how to produce an EV costing less than €25,000 (￡21,340), chief executive Oliver Blume told a press conference in Berlin.

Recent research indicates that a large majority of car buyers are satisfied with their finance purchasing experiences from dealers. he study – conducted by JudgeService, a customer review platform for the UK car retailing sector – encompassing data from 212,986 customer questionnaires spanning the years 2020 to 2023, comes in the wake of the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) investigation into discretionary commission arrangements and a mis-selling campaign led by Money Saving Expert.
