BIG LOVE FROM THE ROOFTOPS. Introducing our latest creative collaboration that celebrates diversity.

At MINI, we’ve always been a bit different from the rest of the crowd, and welcome all who are a bit different too. To us, BIG LOVE means seeing the beauty in everyone’s individuality, and championing new perspectives and creative ways of thinking. This was evident from the design of the very first MINI in 1959.

For our latest creative collaboration, MINI USA partnered with three artists from culturally diverse backgrounds and asked each to create a rooftop design that expresses their unique voice, culture, and perspective on life.

Rich Tu is a first-generation Filipino-American artist who lives in Brooklyn, New York. The title of his MINI Rooftop Art is ‘Hiraya’, an ancient Filipino word that means ‘fruit of one’s hopes, dreams, and aspirations’. Grif is a multidisciplinary visual artist and director who was born in Dublin, Ireland, but now lives and works in New York. Most recently named on Louis Vuitton’s 200 Visionaries List, you can learn about some of his super high-profile collaborations by clicking here.

Shawna X, also based in New York, is known for her vibrant and graphical image-making. Her works often explore the themes of cultural identity, the creative process and motherhood. To discover more about Shawna, click here.

Since the first MINI rolled off the production line in 1959, our rooftops have been a canvas for MINI owners to express their passions, stories and communities – and this new project continues that legacy.

Each unique piece of MINI Rooftop Art will be transformed into limited-edition MINI rooftop decals for sale in North America, with a portion of each sale donated to the American Immigration Council. This non-profit, non-partisan organisation promotes the positive effects of immigration while supporting and uplifting immigrant communities.

We’ve always embraced people’s uniqueness and believe the world is greater when we’re given the freedom to truly express ourselves.

We’re all different, but pretty good together.
