Big List of Podcasts to Follow in 2019
There are some great recruiting / hr orientated podcasts at the moment. Here is my big (which is not particularly big..) list to follow, listen to, subscribe to for 2019
- The Recruiting Future Podcast - one of the leading podcasts on its genre, this is a regular 2-3 times per month podcast which sees Matt Alder interview some of the leading thinkers and doers in the recruiting world.
- The Chad & Cheese Podcast - the best podcast by far for industry news. Chad Sowash and Joel Cheesman are on top of it. You listen to the Chad n Cheese show and you'll get the news, the editorial, the insights and a fair amount of opinion on what is going on in the world of recruitment.
- HR Leaders Podcast - this is THE upstart podcast which is creating all the waves at the moment. Chris Rainey has in a short time built up a massive subscription to his interview show with the leading figures in global HR. For this type of show, it's the guests that make it, and Chris has managed to get the very best.
- The Future Organisation - by Jacob Morgan. This is probably a mandatory subscribe. A-List guests on the show, which would only be possible with if you had a host which was the equal of them in smarts and know-how.
- Talk Talent To Me - by Rob Stevenson of Hired.com, doing 1-2-1 interviews with practitioners in the field. Great to see vendors commit to providing valued content to the community, and excellent demand generation for the Hired.com platform. Surprising not more vendors are doing this.
- The Strong Suit? - Jeff Hyman is the high energy host of this twice weekly show. Interviews an expert from the world of recruiting. Jeff is a natural interviewer, with great chemistry with his guests, which makes for consistently great conversations to listen to.
- Careers On The Line - now also a video show, Careers On The Line is just one of many channels where you can find Joe Mullings - a recruitment business owner who is a true pioneer of the inbound marketing. Listen to his show and follow this guy - not only for the wisdom, but also for the techniques
- Social Recruiting Show - an incredibly consistent high quality show hosted by the Katrina Collier, Audra Knight and typically at least 1 x guest host. Each episode has a theme, with the guest usually being a person who some insight into said theme. It's livestreamed as a crowdcast (so viewers can contribute) and also now a recording as a podcast.
- Hiring On All Cylinders? - Another 1-2-1 interview podcast, coming out at 2-3 per month. This is probably the most used template for a podcast - it's all on the production quality, hosts skill and the quality of the guests.
- The Talent Cast - unique podcast by James Ellis. Unlike most interview formats, this cast is a monologue by James on the topics ranging from candidate experience to employer branding.
- Value Through Vulnerability - by Garry Turner. Really interesting theme to this new(ish) show - it's all about mental health and how being open with your challenges can create the conversations which really have weight and value. I had the pleasure of being on this show, and it was one of the best media experiences I had all year. Worth a listen folks.
- Recruitment Rollercoaster - by Hishem Azzouz of Hoxo Media, a media agency helping recruitment agencies get better at communicating in the way the world works today. It's a high production quality, long conversational style show with interviews from recruiters, vendors, in-house practitioners.
- Let's Fix Work - is the new(ish) podcast from Laurie Ruettimann. Laurie consistently creates storytelling channels, and I think this might be one her best. 1-2-1 interview series focussing on problems and problem resolution, it's rapidly gaining subscribers
- Copeland Coaching - by Angela Copeland is a monthly 1-2-1 interview podcast. Guest quality is world class, a testament to Angela's credibility as an industry insider and a long running host.
- LinkedInformed - Mark Williams has been one of the earliest to build a career entirely through advising others on how to better use LinkedIn. He's now got his tips on a podcast, where he is constantly revealing new techniques, tactics and best practice in light of LinkedIn ever evolving offering.
- Tech Talks - by Harvey Nash. I think the only UK agency podcast of any note - David Savage and Jack Pearce have done a great job in creating consistency for this podcast. Usually a 1-2-1 interview format with luminaries from the UK tech / startup scene.
- The Employer Branding Podcast - hosted by Jorgen Sundberg of Link Humans. Focused - as you might have guessed - on a subset of the recruiting business, employer branding. Guest standard is stellar, and international.
- #WorkTrends - Talent Culture, a.k.a Meghan Biro and Kevin Grossman. 1-2-1 interview format, with a unique twist dovetails with the #worktrends hashtag, so listeners can interact with the show.
- Recruiter Startup - by Dualta Doherty. A rarity, a recruiting podcast focusing on agency as well as in-house recruiters. Dualta runs a Rec2Rec agency, so has a massive roster of potential guests to interview.
- The Sourcing Challenge Show - by Mark Lundgren. Excellent Youtube series which follows a straight forward and consistent pattern; Mark interviews a sourcing luminary on screen 2-3 times a month. It can get quite technical but then that's the point.
This list is just a a list not an endorsement. If you are a provider and think you should be there, please feel free to add a comment in this thread below.
