This Columbian black-tailed buck and a few others avoided our Trico Pro perimeter plot protecting both Douglas-fir and Western Red Cedar Seedlings.

Big Game Repellent study using Trico Pro browse repellent on WA DNR Forest Trust Lands.

On left WRC seedling and Trico Pro pre-applied then planted Spring of 2022. Trico Pro was then applied again Fall 2022. WRC on right is control. No Trico Pro to protect this seedlings. This is repeated throughout the study plot.
Same results with the Trico Pro treated seedlings resulting in taller heights, better root collar diameters and increased survival.

Green #seedlings in the middle of brown and down #environment especially in winter is the only thing to eat for deer and elk before green-up. We must convince the nurseries to pre-apply to increase efficiency/productivity, reduce costs and enhance efficacy.

My "studying" days with Trico are over, I'm officially into the "tweaking stage" now! My first field app on Styro 15 df planted December of 2022 looks amazing, and had a ton of moisture last winter! One way or another, EVERY tree we plant will get a dose, thats a given... next step will be followup treatments and timing in Scotchbroom patches, which will reduce followup brush treatments!
