Big Data and Intelligent Augmentation
What is the true value of Big Data, and who stands to benefit the most from Big Data? The more I understand what is being done in the "World of Big Data", the more I understand that there are 2 groups of people who understand how to capitalize on leveraging Big Data....they are the domain experts at a company,( in the direct vertical, or dept. the datasets have come from,) and the senior management asking specific questions that need answers, hidden in these datasets.
Those answers should be in the form of "insights', not just colorful visualizations or dashboards. It takes the human mind to ultimately define these insights and turn them into actionable decisions to improve the outcomes. Almost always, the real information is hidden deep within the datasets, almost invisible most of the time. When 1 question is asked & answered...it inevitably leads to new and deeper questions being generated that require additional answers . These answers are "Intelligence Augmentation "& it may very well be the future of how Big Data is dealt with to get the real value extracted from the massive amount of data ( currently unusable but collected by every company.
Good Data Scientists are not easily found or created. Very few of them are domain experts in the field where they are asked to work. It takes lots time and money to bring them up to speed.
If a platform existed, that allowed almost anyone, in an organization to produce an enriched dataset, and a domain expert to ask the critical pertinent questions that management is demanding the answers for, what would that be worth to Big Business today?
Can you imagine having an entry level employee or an intern, trained to create these insights that would take a "good team" of Data Scientists weeks or months to generate.
That ability exists today in a newly released platform, proven and tested in Sport Analytics, Healthcare, Logistics, Financial Markets, Distribution and more....
It is not a vertical platform, but rather a horizontal one that can be applied to any business.
The platform is called Tag.bio. I have seen it work. I have tested it. It may very well be the next major leap in Advanced Analytics and Predictive Modeling. The platform can sit in-house or reside in the cloud, and it's all API driven..if you so choose.
